X-Plane Flight Simulator App Reviews

This is unbelievable!!! You have to pay for every single aircraft besides the Cessna! X plane 9 was so much better. It would be a lot better if Liminar just updated xplane 9, like adding more features and new aircraft and updating the graphics. No they decided to make a whole new app and charge you 4 times a much. You could pick up xplane 9 for $10. You have to pay at least 20 for this version and you only get 6 planes.

I like it but theres just not enough to it. Needs more challenges etc.

The problem is that it would not ever respond to my touch. I went to restore purchases and pushed the button and it wouldnt respond.

Bought xplane 9 and was more than satisfied with it, now it seems ridiculous paying for every single plane individually. Not worth it.

Long time X-Planer so its baffling that this game has been so dumbed down that its way simpler than both Flight Unlimited and Aerofly 2. Its not polished and not good for serious Sim fans who, not ironically, want a SIMULATION. Why is that so hard to understand? I played it for a day and Ill just go back to Inf. Flight for the online mode or Aerofly for the graphics.

This game is the best flight sim Ive played, but I was really hoping to fly the b-737or b-757. Hope youd add one in next update.

Ok....wait I have to buy planes......why who wants to buy a plane they could easily fly for FREE in previous versions!! I dont understand.

Doesnt sound very realistic. All propeller aircraft sound the same and all jet aircraft sound the same. Also when switching between the cockpit and outside their should be a change in volume. Another good thing would be sound on take off roll out and landing. Like the rattling of the cabin

I love this game, I bought the A320, 747, 777, MD-80, and a few others. I honestly dont mind paying money to support the designers, but I would prefer if the game itself cost a few bucks and included more planes. However, here are some things the designers should consider: 1. Add more airliners! Especially the DC-10 or MD-11! 2. Make the areas bigger and let us use the simulator to fly around the world like in Extreme Landings. 3. Make the landings more forgiving. I have never flown planes in a flight simulator that bounce like these ones. (Especially the large airliners.) Keep working on this game, Laminar Research. Its good now but has is capable of so much more!

This went from an amazing flight sim with a ton of different planes and maps included to a nickel and dime inn-app purchase pile of crud. I would have strongly recommended this app to friends before the last update. They killed a great thing

This game used to have everything for free, then they switched to pay to play. Otherwise a good flight simulator.

Laminar Research will not be getting more of my money. I had to temporarily delete the version I had due to memory issues. Went to download it again and the only option is to spend $50 to fly the all of the planes I already paid $10 to fly.

UPDATE: The folks at Laminar have just announced that a massive update for the mobile version is on its way. The ambitious plan involves porting all of the flight models and controls of the desktop version over to the mobile version. This is exciting news. So, although in my initial review I said that Laminar is not giving the mobile version the love it deserves, it appears they are. I anxiously await the updates and will adjust my review accordingly. ORIGINAL REVIEW: First off, let me say that this is the best sim Ive played on a mobile device. If you have ever used the desktop version, you know how much attention Laminar pays to its flight sim. However, this doesnt seem to get the same attention. And thats a shame. The graphics are nice and the planes look great, but Ive not noticed any substantial upgrades since it was released. And they are needed. First off, the controls are way too sensitive. So, a sensitivity slider is much needed. Secondly, the ground effects are ridiculous. Laminar, did you even try to land the Piaggio before you released this sim? Its not possible - at least safely. And most every plane bounces on the runway. I dont mind paying for planes, but how about a package deal or bundle for those of us who are going to spend a lot more money on this app? If I buy all planes, shouldnt I be rewarded with a discount or free plane? And we need more airports! Please. I know there are limitations because of RAM, but the area is way too small to do any real flying. Couldnt the sim live-load new areas, like the desktop version? And finally, more documentation is needed. Plane specs, landing and take-off speeds (even if its always empty weight) would be nice. Like I said, its a nice app and probably the best on iOS, but please give it some love!

As anyone with Xplane9 will tell you, Laminar is not so much an organization as much as a SCAM. They will stop supporting this game after a couple of years and release xplane11. At which point you will lose any planes you purchased as well as expansions and airports. This "company" has stolen from millions of people, dont waste your money on buying ANYTHING in the app, unless you want to feel like a dope when they remove your purchases from your phone.

Needs work. Weve played for hours and purchased several planes but starting to tire of it. Thats because it needs more regions and the current ones made bigger too. Ill also mention the bouncy landing physics and buggy flap control. All that aside, whole family plays it and loves it.

The only problem is the placement of the chart. When applying the brakes or throttle, the chart comes up because they are too close together. If the chart button were on the side of the flaps or somewhere less crowded, it would be amazing. But other than that, I love the graphics and the game in general. Also add aerobatic planes like an extra or something! :)

Can you add the Boeing 787 300ER and JetBlue in your next update please?

Apparently all the people giving xplane mobile 5 stars have not been around for a long time or have not had the app for a long time. I remember when I had every plane and all the sceneries they have really gotten greedy over at xplane. You can of course still get those planes but you have to pay for them oh and the scenery you can get those but you have to pay for them.

If you made a full version and a tutorial on the controls that you can use inside the cockpit will make me play it non-stop.
